Our Mission

A Legacy of Educational Support Since 1722

Founded in 1722 by Reverend Francis Prowde, the Foundation has spent over three centuries providing financial support for young men and boys in Somerset and the North and East Yorkshire. Small grants of between £100 and £500 are given for a wide range of educational purposes.

Our support is broad and flexible, recognising that educational journeys are as varied as the individuals themselves — from apprenticeship equipment to counselling, tuition fees to specialist materials. We welcome group applications.
